These are frames from my work about "mythical creatures" in the city. In the hope of making these frames timeless, I have chosen to shoot the project on the medium format film camera.
Being one of these creatures myself - a female cycle courier, I feel an urge to document the other people from this male-dominated industry and show them to the world. Many have heard of these beings, but only a few have claimed to have actually met them. I tend to believe these people are the strongest part of the courier community and society isn't used to see them in their daily life, often asking stereotypical questions and making narrow-minded assumptions.
My aim is to collect enough photos and stories of women, trans, non-binary couriers and make an archive with the minorities of the community, which shall be an equivalent heritage to the cis-male footprint. The project is started in 2017 and is still ongoing and not all pictures are published online.
